Zirconia Crowns
A white ceramic crown for a damaged baby tooth, strong enough to last and natural looking.
A white ceramic crown that covers a damaged baby tooth completely. Zirconia is strong enough for a child's bite while looking close to a natural tooth, and it is the only crown we place, on front teeth and back teeth alike.
The tooth is numbed and shaped to take the crown, then a pre-made zirconia crown is fitted, checked against the bite, and cemented. Shade is matched to the teeth on either side.
A badly decayed or injured tooth stays in place and looks normal, rather than being removed and leaving a gap through the school years. On a front tooth in particular, that matters to children more than parents expect.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about zirconia crowns.
No. Zirconia is the only crown we place, so your child will not leave with a silver cap on a back tooth.
It is white and shade-matched, though a ceramic crown never looks exactly like enamel up close. On a child's tooth it looks far better than the alternatives.
Zirconia rarely chips. A crown can loosen, and if it does, call the office rather than waiting for the next checkup.
Usually, since the crowns come pre-made in a range of sizes rather than being sent to a lab.
Very hard foods and habits like chewing ice are worth avoiding, but otherwise your child eats normally.
