The office is built for kids, not adapted for them
We are on North Sunrise Avenue in Roseville, and the space was designed around children from the start. Kid-sized everything, a prize cabinet that gets a lot of attention, and an atmosphere that stays calm even on busy mornings. Parents are welcome in the treatment area. You do not have to sit in the waiting room wondering what is happening.
We see children from infancy through the teen years, so siblings of different ages can be seen in the same place, often on the same morning.
Same team, new ownership
Smile Gallery has been in Roseville a long time, and the hygienists and assistants your family already knows are staying. That part has not changed.
What is new is Dr. Dan Truong, who took over the practice to bring airway-focused and tongue-tie-informed care to it. He is a pediatric dentist, and the depth of the exam is where you will notice the difference. Nothing about the office or the faces around it got rebuilt.
What an exam actually covers
A cleaning and a check for cavities is the baseline, not the whole visit. At every appointment we also look at:
- How your child breathes, at rest and during sleep
- Tongue mobility, and whether it is limiting function
- How the bite and jaws are developing
- Growth and development, tracked visit to visit
Crowded teeth, mouth breathing, restless sleep, and feeding struggles usually trace back to something. Finding it early tends to mean guiding growth rather than correcting it later.
Beyond preventive care, we handle fillings, crowns, space maintainers, nerve treatment, extractions, and same-day emergencies. We use a Solea laser, we place white zirconia crowns rather than metal ones, and we offer nano-hydroxyapatite for families who want an alternative to fluoride.
For the child who is already scared
A lot of our families come to us after a rough visit somewhere else. If that is you, tell us when you book so we can plan for it.
The visit slows down. Every step gets explained before it happens, in words your child understands. If your child is not ready, we stop instead of pushing through. That is not a policy we recite, it is how the appointment actually runs.
We also see children with special needs and more complex care requirements. Let us know what helps and what does not, and we will build the visit around it.
When to bring your child in the first time
By the first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth coming in, whichever happens first. That early visit is mostly a look and a conversation about feeding, teething, and habits. Starting that young keeps the chair from becoming a place your child dreads.
If your child is well past that and has never been seen, that is fine too. Start now.
Insurance and fees
We work with most PPO dental plans as an out-of-network provider, which simply means we do not sign contracts with insurance companies. In practice that changes very little for you. We verify your benefits before the visit, submit your claims for you, and handle the paperwork, so your family uses your plan much as you always have.
Staying out of network is what lets us recommend what your child actually needs rather than what a plan will cover. Ask us for an estimate of your benefits beforehand so there are no surprises.
