Often called “laughing gas,” Nitrous Oxide is a very safe, mild sedative that will help your child remain relaxed during dental procedures. It is used for children who are moderately anxious or nervous. It eases fears so they can relax.
Nitrous Oxide helps children to receive treatment in a comfortable and safe manner.
Your child will remain awake during the entire procedure and can continue to interact with the dentist. Following treatment, your child will breathe pure oxygen for about 5 minutes to clear out any remaining gas. When the Nitrous is turned off, the effects wear off very quickly.
